1. Initial Setup and Device Connection

What You Need

Step 1: Install Trezor Suite

  1. Download: Go to the official Trezor website and download the Trezor Suite application for your operating system.
  2. Install: Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Do not use any third-party or web-based wallets for initial setup.

Step 2: Connect and Power On

  1. Connect the Trezor device to your computer using the provided USB cable.
  2. The device screen will light up, typically displaying a lock icon.

Step 3: Run Setup in Trezor Suite

  1. Open the Trezor Suite application.
  2. Click "Create New Wallet" (unless you are recovering an existing one).

2. Firmware Installation

The Trezor Suite will guide you through installing the latest official firmware.

  1. Confirm that the device fingerprint shown on your computer screen matches the one shown on your Trezor device screen.
  2. Approve the firmware installation on the device itself.

3. Recovery Seed Backup (Crucial Step!)

The Recovery Seed is a list of words that can restore your entire wallet.

  1. The Trezor Suite will prompt you to Create Backup.
  2. Write down the words: A word will appear on the Trezor screen one by one. Write each word down clearly and in order.
  3. Confirm the Backup: The device will ask you to confirm a few random words from the list.
🚨 CRITICAL WARNING: Never take a photo, store it digitally, or type your Recovery Seed into a computer. Store the physical card in a secure, private, and fireproof location.

4. PIN Creation and Device Protection

A PIN is required every time you want to unlock and use your Trezor device.

  1. The Trezor Suite will ask you to Set a PIN.
  2. Enter the PIN on your computer by clicking the positions that correspond to the numbers on the **scrambled numeric keypad** on the **Trezor screen**.
  3. Confirm the PIN a second time.

6. Using Trezor Suite and Login

Daily Login Process

  1. Connect your Trezor device.
  2. Open the Trezor Suite application.
  3. The application will prompt you to Unlock Wallet.
  4. Enter your **PIN** using the scrambled grid process.

Sending a Transaction

  1. Click "Send" and enter the recipient's address and amount.
  2. Click "Review Transaction".
  3. **Verify the details** carefully and physically confirm/approve the transaction on the **Trezor device screen**.
